April Beauty Favourites

Hello! So this is my first beauty post, and I've been so excited to write one, especially as this month's beauty favourites are amazing. I don't know about you, but I absolutely LOVE buying new beauty products. I don't have a huge collection, but what I do buy I love, and once I love a brand, I never go back! Anyway, here's a look at my favourite beauty products this month!

Let's start with my ultimate favourite. Laura Mercier - Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation (my colour is Golden). I have been searching for the right daytime foundation for so long, and after trying brand after brand I went back to Laura Mercier. I love Laura Mercier, I use her primer, concealer and highlighter and have never had any issues whatsoever. When I saw this foundation I had to try it. I was instantly sold by the beautifully elegant packaging and I find foundations with a pump are much more useful and easier. If you haven't tried Laura Mercier products before, I would highly recommend. They're so gentle on the skin, always beautifully packaged and I just love the overall quality of them. This foundation retails at £35!

This foundation is definitely more of a daytime foundation, as it gives a beautiful glow, however I feel you probably don't get quite as much coverage from this as you would like for a night out. This foundation is perfect, it sits really nicely on the skin and isn't thick or heavy. If you did want to use it on an evening, pairing it with a nice powder would certainly set it and maintain the look throughout your evening!

Next up I have another absolute favourite brand. This product was actually recommended to me by a friend, and I was a little reluctant to purchase it as I already use a really good powder however this has really won me over. M.A.C Mineralise Skin Finish Powder has got to be up there with one of M.A.C's best products. I have tried and tested many different powders but this one has such an elegant, shimmery glow to it. I didn't want to use it at first as it looks so beautiful in it's packaging. This product retails at £24, which for a M.A.C product I didn't feel was too steep!

I love the simplicity of M.A.C product packaging. I find it so beautiful and modern. This product, as you can see above, is defiantly one of those that you feel guilty using first time! But it's so easy to apply and the pigmentation in the powder is so good.

Another powder that I am loving this month is the Soap&Glory - Love At First Blush this product is amazing. The packaging speaks for itself, and Soap&Glory have certainly stuck to their usual incredible packaging ways. The colour combination throughout this product is perfect for both highlight and blush. It's something I only used on the tip of my cheeks, whereas I'm sure some people use it for a stronger cheek glow. I purchased this product from Boots where it retails for £11, which I found really good for a product of this kind.

Next on my list is the cheeky little Body Shop - Honey Bronze Highlighter. When I saw this product I instantly knew I wanted it. I don't know whether it was the cute little packaging or the beautiful colour but it had to be mine. It retails at £8 which I think is incredible! The product itself is really good. I only use one stroke on each cheek however if you wanted to go for more of a glowing look, then you could probably get away with a few more. For such a cute little product I was really impressed.

Moving on to Lip products, my two favourites for this month are the M.A.C - Matte Lipstick in colour Mehr and the Soap&Glory - Pillow Plump Gloss. Both of these lip products work so well for different reasons. To me, M.A.C Lipsticks are just a go to for any occasion. I wear my M.A.C lipstick anywhere, whether it's to work or a more glamorous occasion, there's always one in my handbag. Until now my favourite was Velvet Teddy, however I find Mehr to be very easy to use and it goes with an awful lot too.  The Mehr Lipstick retails at £15.50 and the lady in the store told me if you take your empty lipstick container, you get another free! As for the Soap&Glory Pillow Plump, oh my wow! I never really liked lip glosses, but this one is so lovely. You can't really feel the gloss, however it looks so good on the lip. One thing I did notice is the tingling! It's such a weird feeling, but I love this gloss and would strongly recommend it to anyone, and for £10 it's really worth trying!

Finally, these last two products are something I've had for a while now, but seem to have got more use out of them this month. The Lancôme - Hypnôse Mascara is a must have. I have used this product for so long, and it started from receiving a sample tube in a gift set one christmas. The mascara is so bold and really elongates the lashes, given the perfect look. I find that many mascaras clump my eyelashes, however this one works really well for me. The mascara retails at £23.50 and I purchase mine from Boots. I then have my favourite make-up brush of the month. Real Techniques - Blush Brush, I have so many Real Techniques brushes, but this one stands out to me the most. If it's not the fuchsia pink handle, it's the silky soft head. I love this brand, and there brushes work so perfectly. I find this particular brush works so well for blending your blush over the cheek area, distributing the blush evenly. This brush retails at £9.99 and you can also purchase it within a set!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

  1. I've heard great things about the Soap and Glory Lipgloss, I'll have to give it a try. Great favourites!

    1. It's really good, I highly recommend it! It's really good if you shop at Boots regularly too as you could use your Boots Advantage Card points to purchase the Gloss!xx
