Review: May 2017 Birchbox

I cannot explain how happy it makes me to be sat writing another blog post, especially a review! I haven't written a post for almost a year due to being so busy with work and general life and time has just gone by so ridiculously fast.

Today's post is a review of the amazing Birchbox. Just so you know, I am a Birchbox subscriber in the UK, as I know that the US Birchbox is slightly different, so these products are all based around the Birchbox UK subscription box. Firstly, I just want to say how much I love receiving my Birchbox. It's something I look forward to every month, especially when you receive an email that lets you pick a full size product for the next box you'll receive. Birchbox is a subscription beauty box that costs just £10 (+£2.95 p&p), which after 12 months of being signed up to, I feel is very worth the money. Each month you receive 5 beauty products to try out, with the option to then purchase them through the Birchbox store to receive points. You can then redeem your points and get money off a huge range of branded products! There are some amazing 'Birchbox Benefits' that really help make your Birchbox experience worth it!

So with that brief Birchbox summary, its time to get stuck into this months box. For May 2017, Birchbox created the "It's All in the Details" box, which I have to admit, I love! It's everything you could ever want from a beauty box, from a neutral marble colour, to delicate rose gold detailing. It's beautiful

Every month your Birchbox comes filled with amazing products for you to try. This month the products included were all about little changes that can make a big difference to your daily rituals. I loved this idea, it meant I had some staple pieces that I knew would really help my routines!

The box included 2 full size products, which I think is amazing considering they alone came to a total of £17+ and you only pay £12 in total for your box! The first product I looked at was the Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in "Vanilla Frosting". This eyeshadow is gorgeous, pigmented and shimmery. All of which I love in an eyeshadow!

This stunning Marsk eyeshadow was a full size product and it retails at £14.49. I really like the feel of the shadow on my eyes, and it was really easy to apply!

Next, we have the Doucee Punk Volumizer Mascara. This product is a Birchbox exclusive and retails for £18. To start with, I loved the packaging. It's very smooth and easy to hold, which is I think is necessary with mascaras.

I then opened the mascara to find it had a chunky applicator, which I really liked. A lot of my mascaras are a delicate, thin wand with a fine brush, but I love how different and thick this mascara is. It sits really nicely on the lashes and is ideal for a night out, when you want a little more volume and drama!

I then received a skincare product, which really makes the Birchbox feel worth the money. I love that you receive both beauty and skincare products. This Skin79 Clean-On 2 Step Nose Pack was the first product I used from this months box. I am a huge fan of products like this, as I find my nose suffers a lot from blackheads. This two step product was amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone. You start with a strip that removes the dirt from your pores, and you then apply a second strip that contains a green tea and cucumber formula that soothes and cleanses the area. It feels amazing both during and after use! Another amazing thing about this product is that it retails at £2.90, so I'll certainly be stocking up on more!

This Kueshi Hair Mask was another sample product included in the May Birchbox. It's a shine and volume mask that aims to help damaged hair. I am, unfortunately, very guilty of damaging my hair with straighteners and other heated items, so it's really useful to receive products like this to try. The mask is really easy to use and smells amazing, which to me is a huge bonus!

You can find this hair mask on the Birchbox site, retailing at £10.50. Whilst I have only tried this product out once, I was impressed with the outcome and am excited to give it another go shortly!

Finally, we have the Whish Firming Body Cream. This is another Birchbox exclusive, and I recognised the brand straight away from receiving other items in previous Birchboxes. I really like this brand as the products always smell amazing, and really do the job!

The aim of this product is to soften and protect the skin, whilst firming and smoothing and marks or blemishes. Retailing at £27, it really helps to make your skin feel smooth and nourished. This lovely cream includes organic shea butter, cocoa seed butter and green tea, which is a recipe for blissful skin!

I found that the May 2017 Birchbox was one of my favourites. I loved the packaging and the products included were perfect for me. I really enjoy trying new things, and this box enables me to do so! Are you a Birchbox subscriber? What has been your favourite box so far? Let me know in the comments below, I'd love to know your thoughts!

Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it!
